Hi! I’m Emma.

I have always enjoyed creating and have done everything from crocheting, painting watercolors and acrylics, creating bead art and a lot of other crafts.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until 2021 that I started to understand that it could be more than a hobby. At the moment I do all my illustrations on my iPad, using the Procreate app.

There’s something special about text – it can be a few words, or a longer story – that gets my imagination going, which is great when it comes to illustrating children’s books.

I studied graphic design and photography at high school and then studied art at folk high school before studying sociology with a focus on social psychology at Umeå University. After that I worked in various government agencies but always craved the creative side, so I’m so glad I found my way back to it. I still have a part time day job, but I use every spare moment I have for drawing.

My favourite part of drawing is creating characters and putting them in a situation, creating a story. I love illustrating from different prompts and really enjoy taking part in different kinds of drawing challenges.

When I’m not working, I like to illustrate for fun, read books, play board games and spend time with my family. I was born and raised in Västerbotten and today live outside Umeå with my husband and two children.
